The Final Push

Dunbar mini-rugby P7s have had a really bad five-year run of luck.

In that time they have won very few matches, but have kept going, always trying hard, always hoping.

Today was their final home tournament against three other teams who have beaten them soundly and regularly through that whole five years.

Today they went out and held Dalkeith minis to a draw and then beat Haddington! They had to beat Preston Lodge, a good team of giants in their final match to win the tournament.

They scored the opening try, PL equalised. Then Dunbar scored again and held on until the with very final move of the match Preston Lodge equalised! The match was drawn and they shared the tournament.

It was a great match. They fully deserved their prize.

This is the final pep-talk from coach Gavin before the most gutsy performance I have ever seen. What appears to be dreaming faces is actually some powerful psyche-ing up when viewed in LARGE

STOP PRESS: THEY WON OUTRIGHT ON SOME FIRST SCORE RULE! WELL DONE TO ALL OF YOU!
