Some Days

All's Well at Little Woodend

After the drama which occurred at Christmas, everything has settled down again at the quiet village of Little Woodend.

Greater Woodend

The village's farm workers and service workers all turned out to wave The Flying Scotsman through, but when it stopped to take on water, they gently persuaded the driver and fireman to buy them all a drink in the village tavern.

It took several drinks, in fact before they were allowed to leave, relatively unharmed.

These country folk are a law unto themselves.
