Green, red & brown too
Another wet shot and the same colours as yesterday, but put together differently.
It was a bit better this morning and I started out in sunshire, but obviously that didn't last! The're a last gleam here on the tree trunk, but you can see how sopping wet it is and a minute later it was raining again. But this lovely old yew looked even better with a slick of water on it's knobbly trunk - tough, dark and tactile and completely opposite to the delicate young green behind it and the soggy red beech leaves carpeting the floor.
Yew is, of course, the wood the English longbow was made of, often formed from one piece cut lengthways through sapwood and heartwood. So in addition to making sure the camera stayed dry and I didn't slip over, I had to keep an eye out for Robin Hood and unsuitable Hollywood actors crouched in the bushes..
