Green, red & brown 3 - the story

Okay, yes, my third shot in a row using green, red and brown. Now for the story..

I dropped my trusty and much-loved compact into the river on Monday morning (yes, and myself too!). It has gone to its long home, which makes me very sad as my son gave it to me for my birthday last year. It got me into Blip and back taking photos after years of not doing anything much. Sorry Jack, I love you!

I've been borrowing a camera all week. Today I got my own replacement, upgrading to a Nikon Coolpix P510. I haven't had such a nice camera since the distant days of my film SLR, a Pentax.

I'm ridiculously excited about this.

This is a picture of me looking rather manic with a ridiculously excited grin on my face and taking my first Nikon shot. The mirror looks a bit grubby because it is - very grubby!. It's been sitting in an unheated conservatory all winter getting dusty and smeary. Really I should have cleaned it and taken the shot again, but then it wouldn't have been the first one.
