Black House on Skye

A typical Hebridean thatched house on the road to Portree on the Island of Skye. (Taken from the bus window.) We took a service bus from Kyle up to Portree along the wildest road through the Cuillins mountains and along the coast with views across the sea to Applecross and the Scottish mainland. Portree is a busiling little town with a famous High School, shops and businesses. Some pretty coloured houses stand along the natural sheltered harbour with its Lifeboat and Coastguard vessel.
The weather was really good with lots of sunshine and warm if out of the wind. The rest of the UK were suffering heavy rain and flooding! We caught the bus back to Kyle - one hour's journey and had a superb Indian meal overlooking the sea.
This is my 100th blip - Hooray! I didn't think I could do it when I began!
