Dum dum de dum dum .....
....dum de dum, dum diddle dum dum, dum diddle dum, dum.
Those of you of a certain age may remember Bill Simpson, Andrew Cruickshank and Barbara Mullen.
If you do you'll now recognise the tune above as the theme to Dr Finlays Casebook. You may also recall the credits opened with swans swimming on the River Teith at Callander.
The series was broadcast weekly on BBC between 1962 and 1971 and the storylines centred on a general medical practice in the fictional Scottish town of Tannochbrae during the late 1920s.
Within a year, the series had a cult following and had become a national institution. A Bill Simpson Fan Club was set up, and Andrew Cruikshank was invited as a guest of honour at the British Medical Association's annual dinner to speak on medical matters as if he was a real a GP.
Arden House where the GP's lived and had their practice is in Callander.
Today's blip is in honour of a great TV series -
Swan on the River Teith at Callander
I'm sure some of my blip pals will know what I'm talking about but I wonder how many of you are now singing the tune!
