Orla and Saul

We had a memorial Mass this evening for my Auntie Helen, who died in Canada a month ago. It was a big family occasion, and her husband and two of her three children came over from Canada for it. Afterwards we had a wake in the parish hall. Lots of people chipped in and there was a fantastic buffet. Quite a lot of the children were there, which was lovely to see. Orla and my cousin's son Saul (who go to nursery together) had great fun playing outside. Poor Ed had to stay outside for ages with them! They really don't seem to feel the cold. I went home when the hall closed at 10, but the hard core element went on to the Miners' welfare club unti the early hours. Auntie Helen would certainly have approved.
