We couldn't wait for Friday to come around again.

The thought of more speedway, the roar of the bikes and the fumes, ahh yes the fumes, drew us from the warmth of our cosy homes this afternoon.

So My Girl, her best friend and myself drove through to Ashfield Stadium, Glasgow.

Tigers are trying to boost attendance at their track and have been using a well known site (sounds like coupon) to allow people the chance to buy advance tickets at greatly reduced prices.

If you've never been to speedway and you live, in the west, then it's a bargain price.



All motor sports are dangerous, it usually says as you enter a venue.

And today that proved true for two of our riders when they collided and crashed heavily on the 2nd bend.

Derek, suffered a dislocated shoulder and Charles, who was hit by both bikes and ended up on a spinal board as a precaution.

Neither rider could continue racing, so we were down to 5 men and that makes it kinda difficult to win a meeting.

Still, we did well enough to limit the damage to a 52-41 win for the Tigers.

The news about Charles was good in so much as his injuries weren't as severe as at first thought and he was just battered and bruised, it's still going to hurt like hell!
