Stumped

The old willow at the North Entrance of Pinderfields General Hospital collapsed in the rainstorms last week. It cracked three or four times, split up the grain and sank in the rain.

The tree-fellers obviously came over the weekend and tidied up leaving a cracked stump and a third of the canopy missing.

The wood is all in a pile nearby. waiting to be fashioned into a cricket bat maybe? More likely a bowl. Or maybe it will just go to mushrooms? Who knows?

No rain here today, in fact it was quite hot. The coat, which had been so necessary for days, was an encumbrance, at least at lunch-time.
