Happy family

The breeding season is in full swing, with young Coots and ducklings starting to make an appearance on the Waterside lake. On the way home this evening the light was fantastic and the birds were milling around close to the muddy path, such that I just had to stop and take a few shots. Being such active creatures it was a challenge to get them in shot, let alone in focus ! Here is one of the better images.
