One of the best presents I ever got

This painting is at the top of my stairs - I see it many times a day, and every time I see it, I just am really grateful for having it.

It was painted by one of my best friends, in fact, probably my best friend, Dan. He's a teacher too, and such a fantastic artist - I love his paintings.

I have always loved this painting, since I first met him about 10 years ago, and in fact often coveted it when I went round to see him. So when I did his wedding photos 3 years ago, I was so thrilled when he gave me this as a gift for doing them (because I wouldn't let him and Rachel pay me!).

So when I see it, it reminds me of him, and Rachel, and I am grateful not only for the present, but for having such fabulous friends.

I forgot - because I didn't blip yesterday as I was so knackered, but we had camera crews in school yesterday. Caused a certain degree of chaos, but was a lot of fun and has caused much mirth and merriment today on watching the footage! We also got front page on the Bury times, and a decent spread in the Manchester evening news as well. And the BBC have asked if they can use our kids for 'vox pops' over the next 12 months as well. Cool!
