8o year old boy

Who ever said,"Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional", got it about right in my Father's case.

He didn't want a surprise party, just a cake and a birthday tea. He got a very nice Birthday lunch, with most of the family and a birthday cake. Happy boy and huge smiles.

He even thought it was a, "langiappe", or "lagniappe", but having been unable to find this anywhere in a dictionary,(until now) something extra or something given. I thought it was perhaps, just another of his moments, but with my Mum on his team, I wouldn't bet on it and I was right.

I hope it was a "Langiappe"and we all wish him a very Happy Birthday.
