To hear OH WOW

Makes it worthwhile.
We are in Paris. It has been a long journey, with not a lot of sleep, but a damn sight more than we had last year. Some grumpy moments and some education about consideration of the impact we have upon strangers, which was met with appropriate comments in return.
The children have excelled themselves in attitude and behaviour. They have coped well with the journey, tried to sleep, mostly kept their humour and two dummy spitting incidents have resulted in nicer moments later with apologies and acceptance that tiredness makes life more difficult.
To our surprise all of the students have gone to bed with no fuss and are zonked.
Sleep beckons for me too.
Today involved not being able to access the Palace of Versailles due to epic queues. It also involved becoming a mechanics mate and a parking assistant.
The best bit though has been the repeated cries of OH WOW as monuments have come into view. Some of the students were utterly blown away by the Louvre although they failed to "see what all the fuss was about" with regards to the Mona Lisa!!
I am shattered, but very proud to have been able to bring these fine representatives of our school to this place.

Note to self - never, ever, drive in Paris! Terrifying.
