Jiminy!

...this is not a cricket as I first thought (although I knew Pinocchio's conscience was a green fellow), this is a grasshopper. There was grass nearby to hop over, but as you can see this fellow was hiding in the gravel. I just love the prehistoric scaly look and twig like front legs. When hubby first saw this blip he asked if it was a real live thing! Indeed it is, and it quickly took flight and "hopped" away.
