Appreciation

You may think that after last week we could afford to rest this weekend but no. As well as my girl's last week of school, this weekend sees her attend her last Gymnastics Gymfest. A move to Glasgow may means it is very likely she will have to give up her club gymnastics, although I am hopeful she will join a local club.

Her team never leap into the full glamour and glitz of this event, although their leotards are much more sparkly that they used to be. The amount of false eye lashes, glitter fake tan, florescent make up and hairspray at this event is enough to raise the building into the air and float it away.

She did a fantastic job today. Tumbling Tina achieved tumbles I had never seen before. She achieved height that had me reaching up to bring her back down - it was amazing. All her balances were solid, her lines and dance precise. Such a high for her. We were all there to see it. All there to enjoy and appreciate the hard work and dedication she has put in over the last 10 years. So proud.

I like this peaceful image of the girls, although you may prefer this
flavour of the occasion. We 3 hurried home, leaving her to sleep in the scout hall one more time.

My boy had a party to attend. He often has parties but they fall through at the last moment. This one seemed to be going ahead. His anticipation was electric. He preened and smoothed an appeared looking quite the catch. I offered more advice and sat back. Geez it has been a week for growing up and moving on. He had big fun although arrived home a little earlier than planned as the baby upstairs couldn't get to sleep so they were all turfed out early.
