Tipping the Balance

A number of things have been tipping the balance these last weeks. One of them was removed today, which helps greatly.

The Avenel's 30th AGM was held today in a lovely town centre solicitor's office. They laid on the usual refreshments and chilled glasses for our celebration. Sadly the room was too hot to get a shot of these.

It was lovely to see some of the older members and to be given more of the history of the organisation, as I'm relatively new. As Secretary I now have to make sense of it all, but that can wait a while.

This leaves space for something else to come into sharp focus. Next priority is my boy and his upcoming celebrations, and then we will move on to another, and another and the conveyor belt will keep rolling.

That's why it was important to have a large glass of sparkly today and to smile and toast my wonderful life. For there truly are, if I look a little harder, wonderful moments in each day.

Today was the passing of one event and the celebration of all those who volunteer their time and generosity to benefit others. Now that's tipping the balance in the right direction. Yah!
