Now. You'll remember that I said we were out most of the evening on Friday and could not make the most of a quiet evening with the dogs suitably shattered.

The reason for that was that we were invited out with soaring high (my Bro) and his wife, Mrs sh, to the local hostelry for a meal.

However, when we arrived we found that they were fully booked and had no room for us.

So, having passed the newly re-furbished Cross Gates Inn in Ford pretty well daily, but never yet ventured in, we decided on, plan a) go there and see if they had a table and then plan b) if not, get a takeaway.

Suffice it to say, they had room for us and an excellent evening was had by all. Lovely surroundings, good, friendly service, good company and GREAT food.

Thumbs up from us all and we will definitely go again and highly recommend it to others, whether local or just passing on the way from wherever to Mid Wales.

A pleasure to find somewhere so good as a bit of a surprise.
