Eye tests and contact lenses
When I took these shots this morning, I had no idea how prophetic they would be.
On the left you see how I am now seeing (with contact lenses in situ); on the right you will witness the clarity that my glasses give me. There is the occasional moment of clear vision between misty, blurry episodes.
How long does one give contact lenses before deciding that they are the most evil thing which flops around the world, giving discomfort and blurry vision to all who have the misfortune to cross their flippy floppy path?
I've worn glasses for nigh on 35 years (on and off). I've tried contacts from time to time, but since I have an astigmatism, they have never really been much of a hit with me.
However, enough of my good friends have recently asked me why I don't give them another go. The optometrist kindly provided me with a trial pair which would allow for my astigmatism.
Why then are they so stingy and blurry?
I know, I'm being a big baby; I know they'll settle down; I know that millions of people all over the world wear them all the time without a second thought.
Oh, a clear moment! How exciting!
Hmmm, watch this space.
And I'll do my utmost to do the same ...
Off to attempt my workout now - first time without glasses; wish me luck!
