A Fahrenheit Life

Moorpark House

Despite excessive eating and drinking the night before, I managed to scoff down a full Scottish breakfast this morning - it would be rude not to - before heading off for the drive home following Liz and Sandy's wedding.

This is the main stairwell of Moorpark House, a private wedding venue where yesterday's reception was held. Built as a private dwelling by the owner of the local cotton mill, this mid-Victorian Italianate mansion is now a wonderful setting for nuptial celebrations. Having exclusive use of the house, it felt very intimate and cosy. It's full of charcter with original wood panelling, open fires, ornate ceilings and magnificent stained glasss windows like above.

Some food shopping in the afternoon and then cooked dinner for first born beautiful one and his Sweetpea. We were planning to go to the cinema afterwards but much squabbling about who wanted to see what resulted in match postponed and a night in front of the tv.

It wasn't until after midnight in bed that I realised that I'd forgotten to drop off the car for its MOT tomorrow morning. Drat, alarm set for 7.45 on a holiday Monday..
