Friday: S(c)ullduggery

Drove down to Split this afternoon to attend an event marking both the Olympics but also the annual Oxford-Cambridge (and other teams) boat race which takes place in Split.  You could be forgiven for not knowing about this event - I certainly had no idea.

The man behind it is Luka Grubor, a Croatian-Brit who won gold rowing for Great Britain in Sydney in 1990 and who has now settled back in Split.  Apparently, the boat race is now in its 11th year.

There was a reception this evening to mark the event, hence the oars on the steps.  It's not that the teams just left them lying around.......
