Little Chicks

These little guys were a real help today.

We were visiting great granny-in-law and eating lunch in the cafe in her nursing home complex when my two little ones decided to they had had enough of sitting still or of being polite or of doing what they were being asked. They decided instead to be just a bit grumpy, sullen and cheeky.

The older one took a charge along the long, narrow, inviting (and thankfully empty) corridor, closely followed by his little brother, and then stopped abruptly in the reception area. I presumed they had been 'caught' by a member of staff and were looking sheepish at having been told off but no, they had spotted these five gorgeous little baby chicks.

Watching them squabble around their little incubation unit and flap their wings my two little ones softened and calmed. Having a chance to handle them in their cupped hands my two little ones became animated and excited. Talking about them to all who would listen allowed my two little ones to become cheerier and more engaging children again.

Thanks little guys. You helped a lot.
