Pitlochry
Day 2 of 3 day cycle. We left Pitlochry to cycle to Blair Atholl. It was vary cold but warmer in the sun. Then went on to Bruar and Calvine where we saw a Hen Harrier. We stopped at the bottom of the hill and had our picnic on the bridge. When we cycled up to the pass we got some flurries of snow, as we came down it turned to rain. Then we continued down and the road was completely dry!
We continued down to Kinlochrannoch. We then cycled the north side of Loch Rannoch to Bridge of Gaur and round the south side of the Loch to the Forestry campsite 2miles short of Kinlochrannoch - 70km.
The campsite is very basic and cheap with toilets, washing and washing up facilities but no hot water. But it is in a lovely setting, surrounded by trees with walks of varying lengths from the site. Dave did one of the walks after our meal, I was too exhausted. We arrived and got the tent up before the rain arrived. A very heavy shower but it was soon over and we got the stove going. You hear lots of birds singing all round you, I heard a woodpecker drumming and after dusk an owl.
