Doing the pretty
Today was a succession of visits, from household to household, to 'do the pretty' and pay courtesy calls.
Ended up driving down to Cape Hillsborough with several elderly ladies squeezed into the car. I had high hopes of photographing a scrub turkey or soldier crabs or something appropriately native to a national park, but I fear the noise generated by a pack of senior citizens may have caused the wildlife to flee.
On the positive side, because there was a carful of elderly ladies, there had to be multiple morning and afternoon teas, to be voraciously consumed (how do they talk and hoover food at the same time, apparently without drawing breath?) at various points aong the way. They reminded me very much of seagulls, dive bombing their prey. Bless.
Have now had my annual intake of scones with jam and cream.
