If a Cuckoo's called a Cuckoo...
.. why isn't a Rook called a "WREAAAAAGH"?
Heard 2 separate Cuckoos calling from different sides of Martlesham creek today. Clearly each one vying for the most JudeLaw-ish mate.
Lovely to hear them, specially so soon after hearing on the Radio4 Today programme that Cuckoos were in decline.
I love this picture, by the way, because the Rooks at the top and the horses at the bottom of the tree were so supremely uninterested in each other.
( And because its now May - and the leaves are still not out on this and other oak trees. What's it they say?
Oak before ash, time for a splash
Ash before oak, time for a soak.
We have been warned!)
