The Big Cruise Day 5: swans in a different light
While concentrating on navigating a narrow boat, it is not the best time to be also concentrating on getting good pictures. But the attempt has to be made very often, or do without. The camera is usually at hand but attempting to make adjustments in time for a moving subject is often impossible.
Swans are commonplace. Like herons, ducks and geese, I have hundreds of images of them. So why this grab shot? I can't remember but I think the camera electronics must have been in overdrive as they tried to calculate the exposure. Nothing was really "right" but the resulting image, after a few minor tweaks, pleases me anyway. That's the sun's reflection at 8.47am by the way - not the moon!
[Explanation: Big Cruise Blips begin on 9th April (where there's an introduction) and last nearly 8 weeks with a break in the middle. I'll catch up with uploading asap - mostly in June]
