Strathspey Steam Railway

We went to Aviemore today to meet up with family.
Grandson no 2 had his 4th Birthday and as a treat he chose for us all ( 8 of us ) to go on a steam train. The nearest is the Strathspey Steam Railway going from Aviemore to Broomhill via Boat of Garten, ( Where the Ospreys are ). So we all went on the train and had afternoon tea on board. It was very enjoyable and we had a lovely time. Then we returned from Broomhill back to Aviemore.
Broomhill Station also has the sign up of Glenbogle Station. This was used for filming when the BBC made the Sunday night TV series " Monarch of The Glen.
History and geography all in one trip!!
The Steam train was made in Swindon in 1952 and was restored in Aviemore in 1999.
