Wendy's Flower

It is nearly 3 years since our very dear friend, Wendy passed away.
She contracted Leukaemia a long time ago which was successfully treated but sadly, after 10 happy years the condition returned.
This time she elected to have a bone marrow transplant which was unfortunately not successful. It was a slight gamble but Wendy was willing to take this chance for a healthy recovery.
A very good tissue match was found but, unfortunately, it did not work out.
Just before she had the transplant she showed us her very precious cactus plant which out of the blue had bloomed producing a spectacular show of pink blossom.
We did not know what the plant was called but were given several cuttings, one of which survived.
The surviving cactus cutting grew for us but until now had remained green.
Over the past few days we are delighted that our precious plant has started to flower.
Today's blip is a tribute to our very special friend Wendy who will always be sadly missed.
