A Thought's Eye Captured
I've been mulling this shot over for a couple of days. On monday I was looking at Gladder's entry and noted that it was in tribute to Molly who had unexpectedly died a year ago.
This made me mull over how precious photography can be since it captures the essence of a thought as the photographer looks though the lens. Glimpses of a mind even after that mind is no longer with us.
The image for today attempts to capture that idea of a past view point only I was in a position to see.
A number of years ago we were holidaying in Oban, Scotland, and the next day we had booked the ferry so we could visit the island of Iona. That night Ruth and I had very bad food poisoning but some how we managed to get to Iona the next day - with hyperactive boy who definitely did not feel fragile!!!
This image was done by taking a photo of a picture viewed though an old lens.
Used a double exposure and a bit of photoshop jiggery pokery. Here is the setup
