WET WET WET

Anyone for water bowls?

Today it rained. It rained a lot. The river was a churning brown whirlpool as I drove through the village this morning.

We went to check on a local pond in the evening to find some of the Coots swimming round the debris of their nests but others sitting atop theirs and bobbing along on the rippling waves. Hopefully when the water recedes they and their nests will fetch up in a suitable place. The pair of Garganey were still there but the grass they had previously been skulking in was now under water. I still didn't get a decent photo of them though.

And tonight there is supposed to be more rain. Though the weather forecast as read by Prince Charles on the radio was very amusing! What a good sport.
