inspired by torrential rain
I came out of a meeting at five o'clock straight into a torrential downpour. Water was streaming out of gutters and rushing down the pavements. The high street was awash. I could see potential blipfotos everywhere, but within three minutes my handbag was soaked and my camera was at risk of getting wet, so I had to take shelter in a shop doorway and wrap it in a polythene bag. I couldn't even take a picture from the safety of the bus because the windows were all steamed up. The river Kent was looking pretty wild. Six swans had taken shelter on the bank and the ducks were nowhere to be seen.
By the time I had arrived home and changed into dry clothes, the rain had calmed down enough for me to take a photo of the view from our house - or the half that is not under clouds. Looks like there is more to come.
No need to water the yew hedge tonight.....every cloud has a silver lining!
