That phone call...........!!
The wife rang me yesterday afternoon while i was still in bed, she'd rang my mum to get a list of the shopping she wanted while Bev did the weekly shop today.
Bev, was concerned that there was something wrong with mum because when she spoke she sounded drunk. Mum had a stroke four years ago and also suffers with acute arthritis, so has a list of tablets she has to take daily. Drinking is not an option.
I rang mum, and yes she did certainly sound drunk. Alarm bells......."Stroke", she said she was feeling fine, no fall, dizziness or weakness.......
I rang the warden at mums complex, who said that mum did sound funny when they'd spoken earler in the day, but hadn't thought anything of it.......
I immediately rang 999, paramedic arrived within 3 minutes, ambulance within 10 minutes.........excellent service.........
Within 45 minutes she was in the A&E Major Trauma ward at QA Hospital, Portsmouth.
The Doctor, and stroke specialist did diagnose a minor stroke.......
Over night stay in Hospital, scan expected sometime today........
If there are any NHS members of staff reading this, i want to thank you and your teams at various hospitals around the country who do such an excellent job.
You have my greatest respect.
On the medical front, Pepsi was booked into the vets this morning as she currently has an eye infection. (really pleased we've persevered with the medical insurance for our dogs, even though the premium this year for pepsi was just under £900, we've had our money back).
If dogs could be "Diva's" this beauty would be up there with the best of them.......
Kelly as her owner called her, is just gorgeous......
Don't know if large is any better............
