The Living Years

Day 2

What a busy day it was...

Got up and went for a run which was great. Even though it was early, I was sleepy, I never go for morning runs and I forgot my trainers so had to use my plimsolls. I didn't use any of this as an excuse and just went. Sopron was beautiful so early and the church which was blue yesterday looked white in the morning light.

We had breakfast and got on the bus.

Went to Schonbrunn and as I had been there two weeks ago I didn't go inside. First I had a coffee and homemade strudel in the cafe where I had lunch before. It was still a lovely cafe and the early morning was perfect as it was quiet. I walked around the garden and this time the flowers were in the patterns and it looked even better. I love this place and wish I lived nearby so I could go running there. The long green walkways give beautiful shade and around ever corner there is something new to look at.

We went to Vienna where we walked around as a group for a while and went inside St Stephens domb and the crypt where Maria Theresa (ooops! last night in my state of extreme tiredness I wrote mother not maria!!!!) was burried. The best things about that were all the great sculls on the coffins.

I then had an hour and a bit for myself and visited some parts of Vienna I didn't see last time. Although I still haven't found that big fountain or made it to the church. I had an aperol spritz in mozart cafe then went and got a sausage as I promised F I would. Amazing! A little kiosk and you can buy sausage with nice brown bread and a cold beer, then stand on the street and eat and drink.

We then went to the fun fair where I took some great photos of the old school rides. I went on the famous ferris wheel that dad and I had spoken about on Wednesday. I phoned him from the top and we had a nice chat.

Back on the bus and back to Sopron.

We went to the cinema and saw the Avengers. It was in Hungarian but that didn't matter because as my mum would say it's and action bollocks film so there was no storyline. Although, I did understand a lot to be happy with myself. The film was great and the special effects managed to make me jump a few times. I want to add a couple of thoughts I had about the film. Samuel L Jackson dubbed in Hungarian is pants, Samuel L Jackson is all about the voice! Although he does still look like the man. What was the point in Scarlett Johansson's character? She didn't do much and I was annoyed when she bit the guy, felt like they were showing that girls have to bite in fights. Every time I saw Cobie SmuldersI found myself hoping it's her Barnie marries next Monday on How I Met Your Mother and praying she doesn't die because she needs to get married. Finally, I couldn't take Chris Hemsworth very seriously because I kept seeing him chatting to Alf down at the surf club in summer bay (Home and Away).

Back, spoke to L, checked the students were in bed and now I'm going to bed too.
