Pride of Tynedale Awards

We didn't win. We were shortlisted on a list of 3 so we were pleased with that. The winners in our category, Tourism, were the volunteers on the South Tyne Railway.

Here are M and M posing for their photo against the backdrop that was used for the winners. We all wore our green polo shirts with the old Walking Festival logo.

The competition was sponsored by a firm of local accountants and the local paper products factory. We came away with free pens, a free piggy bank each and a pack of loo rolls! Great stuff.

Went to hear the photographer John Blakemore at the Hexham Photography Group meeting tonight. Very different from the Photographic Society - lots of intense deep thought and emotional response to images. The whole thing was fascinating.
