And the winner is.....
A blipfest again today.
BBC Radio Lancashire invited people hoin in a Big Clean Up after a report showed Lancashire spends £16 million each year cleaning up our streeets. Shame on me for not taking p[art though I have beeen known to challenge litter droppers and make them bin it.
I recal one occasion when I asked a man to pick up his litter in St Annes and he said "I don't want it". My reply was "Neither does St Annes!"
Blackpool FC has been a hive of activity all day as tickets went on sale for the Championship Play Off Final next week. Various media reports would suggest it is not worth Blackpool turning up! That will suit them. They have very quietly and very effectiovely got on with being successful both on and off the pitch this season. There is no resason why they cannot very quietly win next week.
Then tonight I attended tghe AFC Fylde Player of The Year Awards at Preston North End's Deepdale Stadium. An excellent evening of great food, great company and celebrating the excedllence, not only of the players and managers but as the manager put it "The unsung heroes - the volunteers".
I was invited along and told I wouldn't need to get on the PA system - I could have a night off to just enjoy myself.
The manager talked enthusiastically about people who he says play a big part in the success of the club and gave personal gifts to the Groundsman and Club Secretary before talking about a "Man with a unique style, who makes a big difference and we really miss him when he isn't there."
Then gave me this bottle. It was totally unexpected and so nice of him to say what he said about me.
In 42 days time I carry the Olympic Torch. I think I may well open this on that day. Enjoy your weekend
