Smiling but so sad

Suppose urban poverty is always worst.
This is Salisbury Line in Mzuzu City, an area of extreme poverty, alcohol abuse and whatever you wouldn't like in any society.
We have begun to support an amazing group of women, who won't give up on the cause: strong women who will improve this area in spite of all opposition.
This pic was taken at an orphan day-care centre. It's quite an airy building without walls, roof windows or doors. The only asset is the little site.
We have agreed to help build a new day-care centre and in the longer term a little enterprise centre, drop-in centre and maybe a night shelter.
We have offered them zero interest, micro-credit with immediate effect for the many little women's enterprises they want to take on, especially now that the banks have refused.
Sad but exciting!!
