Thistle Down

By Ethel

A Smile

A Smile...A Smile,
Give me a smile.
And let it linger,
For a long while.

Down from the eyes,
Let it to run.
And let it stay there,
Till my heart is all won.

May it have feeling,
No ill to trace.
Let it flow gently,
Right off of your face.

Make it of sweetness,
Like the cooing of a dove.
An offering of myself,
In a mass of pure love.

Let me to keep it,
A moment...for awhile.
And make me a treasure,
In your sweet, lovely smile.
