isn't evolution wonderful

...I had expected to be uploading a blip of the fantastic view from our garden, today, but someone stole the Tuscan sun and it even had the audacity to rain this afternoon. Thought we had left the wet stuff behind when we drove away from the UK!

Despite the slight decline in the weather, I still managed to perform a second cut of the grass and we have continued to weed, clean and tidy in the garden. In fact we still had lunch in the garden so it can't have been that bad :)

Still, I will leave a blip of our vista until the clouds are off the top of the mountains.

Instead, we went for a short stroll to see how many species of orchid are in flower at the moment (6 within 100m of our door) and I chose this image for today's blip. We have many different insect impersonating orchids around us and these bee orchids are among the most impressive. For some reason the petals are much paler this year - they are usually much pinker than this...
