Bamburgh Castle

We had a lovely time catching up with Dennis yesterday evening and our curry from the Spice Village in Wooler was exceptional as usual.

This morning we decided to take the coastal route home driving past Budle Bay and stopping off at Bamburgh beach for a brisk walk. The big red dice in the photograph are new to me as they weren't there the last time I visited. These decorated anti-tank blocks were used in the Second World War and can be seen from far up the beach. There are eight altogether but only two have been painted. It would have been nice if the sun had been shining but that's obviously too much to ask for with living in the North of England!
