Recuperating...

It's not easy to tell from this picture that Jakey is looking a little worse for wear or to be more accurate... a little worse for fighting.

It's a well know fact around these here parts that my neighbours cat hates Jakey. This is the neighbour that Jakey used to live with before I adopted him, all parties agreeing to this, I might add. And the disagreeable cat next door didn't live next door when Jakey lived there, but moved in a short time after Jakey moved in with us... I do hope this is making sense and that you are keeping up!

Anyway, if you should look closely you will see that Jakey has a scratch on the middle of his nose, plus one on the end of his nose and two scratches perilously close to his eyes. When this happened he was rather bloody about the face and it took me a little while to ascertain that his eye was not damaged in any way. He has a selection of other wounds and scratches about his head and body so it must have been some fight. His worst one yet.

To give you an idea of how bad tempered and ill mannered next doors cat is... she will throw herself, whilst making a raucous din, at our back door, which is clear glass from top to bottom, if she sees Jakey anywhere near the door.

It's one thing for Jakey to be terrorised outdoors but in the cosy comfort of one's home when just sitting minding one's own business... well, it's just not cricket.

Next doors cat will have the contents of a watering can coming at it, at the very least, next time I catch sight of the little *%@* in our garden!
