I felt like a right one today!
I hadn't been in the office for three weeks and Christmas had arrived in Solihull since the last time I'd been there. I stood under a reindeer made of twinkling lights and stared up at it. I wondered about taking a picture of it with my phone; then had a second of panic when I thought I'd lost my phone after discovering my empty jeans pocket and then realised I was talking on it.
When days start like that, you know it's going to be a fun one. I didn't hang around for long in McDonalds and left with my tea to trudge up the High Street. The street sweeper machine followed me up the road and right round to the council house. I was not amused!
I got logged in quickly once I'd rearranged things and then I opened the box someone had left on my desk. It contained two big plastic jugs ordered with our team code. By the time I left several hours later, I still had no idea who had ordered the jugs. This may only be amusing to people with a British sense of humour but I guess I should have been pleased about so many 'gentlemen' in the office remarking that I had nice jugs!
After sorting out a few things I couldn't resolve from home, I needed to use the photocopier in the next office. I couldn't remember where to wave my ID card to log on to the dratted machine! After a couple of minutes of waving it about, a lady in the office stopped laughing long enough to point out the flashing card detector bit at the side. Urrghh! I slunk back into my own office afterwards with laughter still ringing in my ears and a red face. Paul and Shauqat were very unsympathetic and remarked that they hoped I hadn't told anyone I was from IT. Forget IT, I just felt like a right tit today.
Oh well.. I made it in and out of the hairdressers OK and look the same as when I went in so it wasn't all bad!
Track? I fancy the Rolling Stones today with this song possibly being dedicated to the old Blipfoto! - Miss You
