A battered whelk

Sounds like another of those Scottish heart-busting recipes but no.
You have probably had enough of birds over the last few days so here is a change - although probably not a very exciting one.
I love the contrast of the shape of the white shell with the rounded multitudes of grey of the pebbles.
Yesterday's goose is still there but not much else to report from the Isles.
