Pond UFO's

Dear Diary,

This is not "my" pond...another pond further down the road.  I stop there to look for Bald Headed Eagles...there are two pairs that frequent the pond.  No eagles today but I saw these UFO's - unidentified frozen objects.

This is a pond much favored by ice fishermen and at first I thought it was a test hole but I've never seen these white block shapes before.  Can't be ice...too big.  The recent heavy rain left a thin coating of water on the ice that added to the strange effect.

I can't believe they would leave their bait out...the eagles will think it is a picnic for sure!  Some detective work is needed!  I'll go back today and see if they are there.  Maybe the eagles will be feasting!
