Its surprising how many contradictory emotions you can feel at the same time - frustration, compassion, exasperation, sympathy, irritation, helplessness etc etc etc ..

Here's little Sweetpea - who first arrived in the garden a year ago with a very damaged face - then disappeared over the summer and has now returned with a pretty well healed face. He likes to hang around the rockery and this evening was lying right by the house as you see in the photo.
