Festivities today were in honor of the Virgen de la Soledad, the patron saint of the city of Oaxaca.There is a statue of the Virgen in the courtyard by the church, and people light candles and buy fresh flowers to place in front of her.  
And of course there were fireworks, bands (all night), and vendors with enough food to feed two armies!
