Chocolate

Tomorrow is the day of the Virgin de La Soledad, the patron saint of Oaxaca, and the fiesta is in the Danza, right around the corner from us. The Basilica de la Soledad is one of the churches that faces the Danza (plaza).

Yesterday they began closing off portions of the surrounding streets and setting up vendor booths. There are booths that sell other items, but food is prevalent.

This booth sold bars of chocolate mixed with different amounts of almonds and sugar. I am going back tomorrow to buy something for our friend from Alaska who is coming to visit in a week.

There will be fireworks, and we can watch them from our porch!
