I could not believe when I bought the gingerbread house as tonight's advent calendar that Mitch had never made one either! We made them all the time growing up...but out of graham crackers on top of milk cartons. This edition is a bit easier (and fancier) than that. Although I still prefer the old way. 
But we all had a great time putting it together, listening to Christmas music and occasionally eating our project.
