Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014 First Sunset of Winter
This is a view of sunset for our 2014 Winter Solstice -- the shortest day of the year. The sun was gone before 5:00 p.m.
I had just been to the beach lookout with the three pooches and gotten back to the house in time to unleash the dogs and capture this. The shoreline was beautiful too, but I hadn't captured a image of the sun going down.
Mr. Fun has not been well all day. He has just slept in his recliner chair and snoozed for hours. His stomach has not felt good all day, but thankfully the symptoms have not progressed to anything worse.
Tomorrow we make the 4 hour journey to our southern California home to prepare for the family coming to our place on Christmas afternoon for dinner. Our granddaughter Ashly asked us if we'd host the family for Christmas. I was delighted. The family situation is still a mess because Ashly and Emerson's parents, John & Dede (our daughter), have been separated for a long time (over a year--actually I think she left early summer of 2012). They remain friends and sometimes seem like they are "together," but then they are not. So it is rather confusing for all of us on the outside looking in, and especially for their two young adult children. Emerson has been living with us since June 1, which is truly wonderful for us. He oversees our home when we are here on the Central Coast. Anyway, long story short -- we leave California's Central Coast tomorrow morning to head for Christmas.
Good night from the Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
