Signs of spring

Even though we're in the depths of winter, there are plenty of signs that spring's not too far away. On the river a pair of swans were exhibiting courtship behaviour, strengthening the pair bond that lasts a lifetime, and alongside hazel catkins were flowering, even on trees that have not yet lost their leaves. This mild autumn certainly has things confused...

I'm feeling much more Christmassy today - now that the final shopping has been gathered in. Tonight there are just a few last minute presents to complete and a new pair of curtains to hang. As usual, tomorrow will involve lots of cooking, but hopefully everyone will join in! Should be fun...
