Following yonder planet...
A day of cooking was followed by a quick trip to Waitrose to buy the inevitable few items missing from yesterday's shop. As we came out, the crescent moon was looking particularly beautiful, so once I'd dropped Pete at home I dashed down to the Rowing Lake with my camera and tripod.
It was a perfect Christmas Eve scene, with the geese swimming gently around on the lake in the moonlight, and the silence only punctuated by the occasional jogger or cyclist. The white line in the distance is caused by headlights of the cars on the Parkway. The bright celestial body, located just to the left of the moon, is Mars which is approaching its perihelion.
I hope you all have a truly wonderful Christmas.
