Union Square at Christmas, San Francisco (part 2)

Yesterday I posted a picture of Union Square at night.  Today I was back there again.  This view was taken from the 8th floor of the Macy's Department Store.  

Thankfully, I wasn't there to do any last minute shopping.  There is a Cheesecake Factory restaurant on the 8th floor of Macy's and having recently been given a gift card for the restaurant, I was hoping to have lunch there on their outdoor terrace overlooking the Square.  I thought it would be a nice Christmas Eve treat.  

However, it's a very popular restaurant and even though I got there early, I was told there was over an hour wait.  No worries, I got a cup of coffee and waited in another seating area not being used that day, still overlooking the square.  I enjoyed a new book on my Kindle and got a few pictures.  I ended up having to wait for over an hour and a half and finally just as my name came up, the heavens opened and it started to rain.  All those who were still eating their meals had to rush inside to be squeezed into their indoor dining area.  I decided that this was NOT my day for spending my gift card and I abandoned my plans and instead headed to a nice Japanese restaurant I know.  I shall enjoy my gift on a less busy and sunnier day in 2015!
